From Name to Meaning

When I first picked up a camera, I didn’t know exactly where it would lead me. I photographed a lot of things, including weddings, under the name Maddie Nicolette [takes photos]. It was simple. It was mine. But over time, I realized it didn’t quite speak to the heart of what I loved most.

My heart wasn’t in first dances and bouquet tosses, it was in something quieter, messier, more real.

It was in the living room floor snuggles. The wild toddler giggles. The newborn yawns and mama kisses.

And so, Boundless Joy was born.

Why i rebranded

When I officially stepped away from weddings and focused fully on family and newborn photography, I knew I needed more than just a name change.

I wanted families to immediately know what kind of photography they were stepping into. I wanted the name to reflect how I see children, how I view family life, and how I approach storytelling with my lens.

I played with name ideas built around “heart” and “joy.” But nothing quite felt right… until one day the word just landed.

why boundless joy

I was thinking about how much energy kids have.

The way they bounce back, the way they live loud, the way they love big.

Boundless energy. Boundless love. Boundless joy.

It clicked.

But there’s more to the story.

My mom, and her best friend (who became a second mom to me), always used to say, “Choose joy.”

Choose joy for today.

That phrase echoed through my childhood and shaped who I am. It still does.

So when I landed on Boundless Joy, I knew it wasn’t just a cute phrase. It was a legacy, and a calling.

what it looks like in my sessions

It looks like a toddler twirling in the grass.

It looks like a baby with cake in their eyelashes.

It looks like a mama scooping up her crying kiddo and melting into a laugh.

My sessions are full of playfulness and freedom. We move. We laugh. We tell jokes. I use games and imagination to help your kids feel seen and celebrated, not just posed.

Because genuine fun leads to genuine smiles.

And genuine smiles lead to timeless photos.
