I know I can't be the only one that struggles with coming up with the perfect location that embodies what I want to capture. Every location is unique and gives an entirely different feeling. Not to mention the aesthetic switches each location has with each season. That is why I have created this Location Guide!
I have, and will continue to gather locations across Columbus, showing you what they look like throughout the seasons in order to help you decide the perfect location for your next photoshoot!
Rocky Fork Metro Park
New Albany, Ohio
Rocky Fork Metro Park has great walking trails, a perfect tall grass
meadow , and plenty of wildflower spaces. I love utilizing Rocky Fork in the fall, however it is beautiful all year round.
Highbanks metro park
Lewis Center, Ohio
Highbanks is an absolutely gorgeous park, plenty of long walking trails, bridges, and woods. The large nature center provides great variety, as well as lots of overlooks. Highbanks showcases its beauty the most in the summer and fall, when the leaves are at their fullest.
Goodale Park
Columbus, Ohio
This park is gorgeous no matter what the season. There are plenty of flowering trees, grassy hills, and a fountain with wrap around side walk. In the spring the cherry blossoms and other flowering trees showcase just how beautiful the park is.
German Village
Columbus, Ohio
German Village seems to be the best of both words. There is a park super close called Schiller Park where you can get the more 'nature-y" feel, and of course throughout the village you get the more urban feel. The beautiful homes of the village seem to be a combination of brick and stone, with lots of ivy and plants.
Franklin Park
Columbus, Ohio
Whether you are inside the conservatory or out in the gardens, this park is a great place for photos, no matter the weather. Due to the inside option, Franklin Park can be a great winter location. Beautiful flowering plants, tropical plants, and plenty of beautiful structures.
Brent Hambrick Disk Golf
Westerville, Ohio
Brent Hambrick Memorial Disk Golf Course is surrounded by beautiful tall evergreen trees, it is also next to the Hoover. This Disk Golf Course is beautiful in the summer and winter!
Galena Village
Galena, Ohio
Galena Village is surrounded by beautiful wooded areas, has bridges and boardwalks, and is sitting on the hoover. It is also home to The Coffee Vault, a lovely coffee shop set in an old bank.
Everal Barn
Westerville, Ohio
Everal Barn and Homestead is a beautiful park where a cute white barn sits. There is a cute path around a pond. Weeping willows, beautiful landscaping, brick, and the white barn make for gorgeous photos.
Park of Roses
Columbus, Ohio
If you are looking for florals, stop right here! Park of Roses is the perfect spot for beautiful floral images. Gorgeous landscaping, walkways, gardens, and of course a fountain.
Highlands Park
Westerville, Ohio
Highlands Park and Aquatic Center is a wonderful park with plenty of open grass (soccer) fields, picnic areas, and beautiful boardwalks and bridges. The marshy pond, and cattails make a perfect backdrop.
Inniswoods
Westerville, Ohio
Inniswoods and Metro Gardens is the one stop shop. With a little waterfall, perfect curated gardens, brick, and stone one can get plenty of variety. Inniswoods is beautiful in every season, however on nice days can get jam packed.
Creekside Gahanna
Gahanna, Ohio
Creekside is an awesome walking path just below the creekside boardwalk. A beautiful wooded path that winds around the creek. With ducks, waterfalls, stone, and the foliage you won't want to leave.
Uptown Westerville
Westerville, Ohio
Uptown Westerville is a cute town with lots of brick. There are plenty of small shops along the sides, including coffee shops, ice cream shops, and antique stores. In the heart of Westerville is the school Otterbein University, with parks in several places.
Family Barn
Galena, Ohio
My family owns 8 acres of lands, that they graciously let me utilize. On their property are 2 ponds, a barn, lots of open fields, and geese and swans. The wildflowers in the summer and throughout the winter are my favorite!
Walnut Woods Metro Park
Groveport, Ohio
Do you love the pine tree look? This is park is full of pine trees! The gorgeous look of the symmetrical tree line is so satisfying. Perfect for fall and winter!
Be Changed Studios: Loft
Westerville, Ohio
Be Changed Studios is a great indoor option! It has beautiful natural light, and is decorated seasonally. Be Changed is also a pet friendly studio, so pups are welcomed!
Humble and Pine studio
Pataskala, Ohio
Humble and Pine is another great indoor option! Lots of natural light, the studio is surrounded by wildflower fields as well. Humble and Pine, is a pet friendly option.
Jeffery Mansion
Bexley, Ohio
Jeffery Mansion sits on a gorgeous property. Whether you are looking for brick, stone, or gardens, this is the place to be! Jeffery Mansion offers a beautiful verity, for an amazing experience.
Amita Studios
Gahanna, Ohio
Amita Studio is another great indoor option for your sessions. The space has amazing natural light and has seasonal decor. Amita Studio is also a great option for Newborn photos as they have a posing bag and a moses basket.
Coach Creative House
Delaware, Ohio
This is my go-to spot for newborn photography. This studio has all the necessary props and outfits for your little one. If you are looking for a stress free experience for your studio, newborn session, this is the studio to rent.
